Attendance options

Youhere has many attendance options available. Click a button to explore them.

Timed check-ins

Set a count-down timer for your group to check-in. The timer can be started spontaneously for "on-demand" attendance. Timed check-ins work in any environment (in-person or virtual). Here's an example of use in a Zoom meeting.

1. If in a virtual meeting, start as usual.

2. Pause your meeting at some point and say "let's take attendance."

3. Start an attendance timer in your Youhere account.

4. Your participants use our free app to "check-in" and...

...either they check-in before time is up...

...or they don't.

Using a Bluetooth Beacon for attendance

This uses a Bluetooth beacon for check-in. Participants must be in range of the beacon to check-in (about 150 ft). To use it, physically place a Bluetooth beacon at your target location.

For a participant to check-in, the App must determine that their phone is within range of the beacon. More on using a Bluetooth beacon for attendance.

Video-watching check-ins

1. Establish a "clue" in all of your required videos.

Sample: At what playback time did the rocket clear the tower? (Ans: 4:22:54)

2. Set up each video in your Youhere account.

(You give the students the clues as in "When did the rocket just clear the tower?")

3. Your participants use our free app to select available videos...

...then show how they found the clue.

Location-based attendance

1. You can set your needed location (classroom, practice field, etc.) on a map.

For a participant to check-in, the App must determine that their phone is within your geofence.

Exam answer sheet in the App

Use the same Youhere app as an autograded, paperless exam answer sheet. Here's how.

Voting Cards in the App

Easily do informal class polls or peer instruction. You pose a multiple choice question and participants hold up their phones with their answer. This gives you a quick look at their understanding (without having to print cards or anyone forgetting theirs). (In virtual teaching: participants hold their phone up to their web-camera.)

Sync attendance grades with your CMS

Using Moodle or Canvas for your class grades (or even just a spreadsheet)? Easily sync your Youhere attendance data with it.

How? Create a gradebook column in your CMS gradebook for attendance scores. Export a CSV of your gradebook and paste it into Youhere's sync service. It'll match students names with scores, filling in your gradebook attendance column. Import the CSV back into your CMS. Done!

Leave a check-in message for your participants

Tap out a reminder or greeting for your participants to see when they check-in.

Parent check-in (of their child)

For younger participants, parents can check-in their child at dropoff. Here are buttons a parent of Samantha and Max will see at dropoff.
